Canada's federal EV rebate is now the Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP), which replaced the previous iZEV program. EVAP launched February 16, 2026 with $2.275 billion in funding and runs to March 31, 2031, or until funds are exhausted. The rebate is applied instantly at the dealership — no buyer application required.

Eligibility is based on the final transaction value — $50,000 or less, including vehicle price, options, and dealer fees (excluding taxes). No price cap for EVs made in Canada. The vehicle must be manufactured in Canada or a country with a free-trade agreement with Canada.

  • Final transaction value ≤ $50,000
  • No cap for Canadian-made EVs
  • New purchase or lease ≥ 12 months
  • Made in Canada or FTA country
  • Chinese-made EVs not eligible
  • 1 rebate per individual (lifetime)
  • Applied at dealership — no buyer application
